You can request permanent deletion of your Family Circle account and the personal data we hold about you. This page explains how to request deletion and what happens to your data.

How to request account deletion

Send an email from the same Google address you use to sign in to Family Circle.
Use the subject line: Delete my Family Circle account.
In the message, confirm that you want your account and associated data deleted.
We will verify your identity using that email address and process your request.

We aim to confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete deletion within 30 days of verification.

What you can do in the app first (optional)

Before or instead of a full account deletion, you can:

Sign out (Settings) — removes local cached data on your device; cloud data remains.
Leave a circle (My circles) — removes your membership; you lose access to that circle’s data.
Delete your content — remove events, notes, recipes, and shopping items you created where the app allows delete.

These steps do not delete your sign-in account or all personal data we store. For full deletion, use the email request above.

Data that is deleted

When we process a confirmed account deletion request, we delete or anonymise:

Private calendars and their events	Deleted
Google Calendar / iCal sync connections you created	Deleted; imported events removed where applicable
Recipe photos you uploaded	Deleted from storage
Local app cache on your device	Removed when you sign out or uninstall the app

Data that may be kept

Data	Why it may be kept
Shared notes, family calendar events, recipes, shopping list entries, or prices visible to other circle members	May remain so other family members are not disrupted. We can delete your authored shared content on request if you specify this in your email.
Backups and server logs	May be retained up to 30 days for security and disaster recovery, then purged automatically.
Records we must keep by law	Only if required (e.g. legal or tax obligations); otherwise deleted.

After deletion

You will not be able to sign in to Family Circle with the same account unless you create a new account.
Other members may still see content you shared in a circle unless you asked us to remove it in your deletion request.
Deleting your Family Circle account does not delete your Google account.
